MIAMI, FL. (Telemudo/ Estefan Productions) - Alejandra Guzman, also known as "The Queen of Latin Rock," is the first artist to be announced as one of the judges for "Nuevas Voces de America" (New Voices of America), the new talent search reality series produced by Estefan Television productions, which will launch February on Telemundo.

Alejandra Guzman, who has been nominated for a 2005 Grammy Award under the category of Best Latin Rock Alternative Album for her latest production titled "Lipstick", is internationally renowned as one the most talented, energetic and controversial Mexican artists. Her creativity and originality began to develop at the tender age of five when she was exposed to dance, art, and everything related to entertainment.

This successful singer, who will appear Thursday at 5pm (4pm c) in Al Rojo Vivo with Maria Celeste, has an extensive artistic career that includes 11 musical productions and more than 10 million records sold. Alejandra recently finished her "Supersexitada" tour in more than 27 cities in the U.S., making it one of the most extensive tours executed by a Latin artist in this country.

It was Alejandra's production of "Eternamente Bella" that launched her to international fame. It became one of her most renowned albums, and propelled her to a series of concerts throughout Mexico, the U.S., Central and Latin America, and gave her the recognition by her fans as "The Singer of the Year". After "Eternamente Bella", came other popular albums like "Flor de Papel", "Libre","Enorme", "Cambio de Piel" and a compilation of her most popular hits titled "La Guzman." Alejandra has been honored with numerous recognitions and awards, among which are two Latin Grammy nominations and a Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal.

"Alejandra Guzman's energy will definitely give the show a strong dosage of versatility, but in addition, she will also offer an essential element to the show: honesty. She is real and authentic, and is not afraid to state what no one else dares to say," said Emilio Estefan.

"Nuevas Voces de Am?rica" will find the next Latin superstar through a highly competitive selection process in which 20 contestants undergo intense coaching and makeovers that will prepare them for weekly tests by judges and television viewers who will cast their votes and ultimately select the new voice of America. The winner will receive a grand prize consisting of a recording contract with a major record label.
