SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (DLN Distribution) – Ignacio Pena is headlining the Grand Re-opening of San Juan's Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday, January 20, 2005, with his acclaimed audio/visual show Phono/Graphico. The restaurant, which has been closed due to remodeling after a fire gutted the building, will re-open to patrons during that week.
Pena was chosen as the only rock act to perform at Hard Rock due to his history of performances at the restaurant located in Old San Juan and recent publicity he has received after the release of his second album, Anormal, being distributed in the U.S. by DLN Distribution. He will be presenting Phono/Graphico again on Saturday, January 22, in Duches Sports Bar in Guayama.
Pe?a is currently promoting his second single, 'Dsnde Estabas?' to radio throughout the United States and the video, for the same single, is receiving airplay on local and international video channels. He is preparing to embark on a comprehensive tour of his native Puerto Rico where he will present Phono/Graphico throughout the island.
Pena's song, 'Let Go', was chosen for release on the BEST OF WAZEE 2004 compilation CD for
Radio Wazee (www.wazee.org), the alternative music
Internet radio station reported by Arbitron as the most listened to in the U.S. Wazee reported the song as one of the five most downloaded songs during June and July of 2004.
'Anormal's' radio impact is being felt across the U.S.
Radio & Records reports that the songs 'Hey T? (Imb?cil)', 'Velocidad de escape' featuring Gustavo Laureano of La Secta All Star, 'Anormal' and 'Dsnde Estabas?' have maintained consistent rotation on several radio stations in Florida, Chicago,
Alabama and Los Angeles, among others, since June of 2004. More information can be found at www.radioandrecords.com. Additionally 'Hey T? (Imb?cil)' is receiving airplay on Batanga, Latin
Music Internet Radio, which can be heard at www.batanga.com.
Pe?a has been the subject of media attention across the U.S. including an audio interview conducted by Luis
Moreno for LaMusica.com, a bilingual Latin music and entertainment site under the Spanish Broadcasting
System umbrella.
In response to the demand for his music, Pe?a and his band are scheduled to return to the U.S. in March to participate in several promotional engagements, beginning with the prestigious South by Southwest
Music Festival in Austin, Texas, which takes place March 16 – 20, 2005.
