Katy Perry's 'Witness' Tops NetEase Cloud Music's Sales Charts In China
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Katy Perry's new album 'Witness' has continued its scorching run worldwide by topping sales on NetEase Cloud Music in China. Ten days into its release on various music services in China and 'Witness' has registered total online sales of over 1.4 million songs by 23 June, with NetEase Cloud Music achieving 40% of that with 560,000 songs and outperforming other music services.
'Witness' has already reached 180,000 sales units globally whilst debuting at No.1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart - her third album to top the charts.

In a shout-out to Katy Perry's Chinese fans who have nicknamed her 'Ms Fruit' owing to her affinity of adding fruit elements in her dressing, NetEase Cloud Music launched a novel promotion with the album release: "Buy the Album and Get a Fruit," where fans stand to receive a surprise summer fruit package with every purchase of the album. This has definitely succeeded in attracting more listeners to Katy Perry's fanbase.

NetEase Cloud Music introduced 'Witness' in its new music recommendation columns, a move that garnered thousands of comments related to Katy Perry. NetEase Cloud Music is China's leading social music platform with personalized music recommendations for users. In anticipation of this album, her first single, 'Chained to the Rhythm' attracted more than 30,000 comments at the point of its release on NetEase Cloud Music.
