LOS ANGELES (www.steelwind.net) - Steelwind's Kevin Humphrey has released his new solo CD, "The KH Project". The CD consists of 10 tracks of hard-hitting Progressive Rock (AOR), with the exception of a stunning blues number a la Gary Moore. "The KH Project" has drawn critical praise and strong worldwide airplay. Though the sound is parts Styx, Boston, Journey, Night Ranger and REO Speedwagon, Steelwind maintains a unique and modern sound.

The Steelwind band was formed in 1999 in Texas by guitarist Kevin Humphrey and drummer Artie Jones. Soon after keyboardist Billy Oliver, bassist Fidel Gutierrez, and guitarist Michael Clary joined the Progressive Rock team. After several jam sessions and a few gigs, the band went into the studio and recorded their first release "Heaven's Calling" in 1999 and released it in 2000. The "Heaven's Calling" CD generated many fans worldwide and the band thrilled audiences with exciting stage shows.

Soon after, Steelwind hit the studio again and began it's work on recording the second release "Jawhook", which finally came out in 2002. After the "Jawhook" release, the band decided to take a break for awhile, except for Kevin Humphrey.

Kevin had alot of musical material in his heart and head that just "had to be" recorded and released. So,...Kevin set out on his own and began writing, composing, and recording a 'solo' release. The solo CD was set off under the STEELWIND name as; "The KH Project" in December of 2004.

Some assumed that Kevin's solo release would probably be an acoustical guitar, vocal project, but that wasn't the case at all.

The "KH Project" is a full band composition which lacks nothing from the Steelwind sound, as Kevin wrote, recorded and mixed the entire work. The KH Project is performed 'live' with Kevin, and the rest of the Steelwind band.
