 NEW YORK (Club Rio Productions) Celebrating their 21st year at the Hollywood Palladium, the annual Carnaval eventwill be both entertaining and giving this year. Initially
planned as their yearly celebration of Carnaval in conjunction with the
event in Brazil, organizers at Club Rio Productions saw an opportunity
for their event and it's thousands of guests to help with the Asian
disaster relief. "Carnaval is known across the world as the
biggest party on the planet and as a celebration of life, art, culture
and tradition" said Ariel del Mundo the event's producer, "this is an
opportunity for us to help with relief efforts at an event that is
already know for its celebration of life". Club Rio Productions
joined forces with Save the Children (www.savethechildren.org) a
leading nonprofit humanitarian relief and development organization
working in more than 40 countries throughout the developing world and
the United States. Save the Children is mobilizing its response to
children and families who, having survived one of the world's most
powerful earthquakes are now in desperate need of food, clean water,
medical care and temporary shelter. "We have mobilized
response teams both within South Asia and around the world to meet the
need of children affected by this terrible tragedy," said Rudolph von
Bernuth, Vice President of the organization's humanitarian response
division. Several of Save the Children's professionals in rapid
responses and protection program for children were dispatched to
Indonesia almost immediately following the tragedy. The event
which takes place on Saturday February 5, 2005 at 9pm already has a
star-studded international lineup of entertainers and performers; ***
