A Magical Anniversary: 10 Years Of Hollywood In Vienna
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Vienna Concert Hall (Wiener Konzerthaus) transformed into a glamorous Film Palace last Friday for its 10th Anniversary. Hollywood in Vienna Founder and Artistic Director Sandra Tomek surprised the audience not only with a singing guest of honor but also with four world premieres and a personal message from director Tim Burton. He congratulated his friend and collaborator Danny Elfman on his Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award, given by the City of Vienna to honor a outstanding Film Composers each year. "It's a big honor to perform my work in Vienna and especially to receive this award here in the City of Music and the birthplace of two of my role models, Max Steiner and Erich Wolfgang Korngold, the forefathers of the Hollywood Sound as we know it today", says Elfman.

The gala concert, with performances by Austrian Song Contest Performer Nathan Trent, Lebo M, the british-indian singer Sohini Alam, London Westends' Louise Dearman, Ethan Freeman, St. Florianer Boys Choir's Florian Winkelmaieer & Manuel Haumer, Star- Violinists Sandy Cameron, Lena Frankhauser, "Wunderkind" Emil Weller and Danny Elfman, who performed "What's This" from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Guest Conductors of the ORF Radio-Symphonierochestra Vienna were James Shearman and John Mauceri, who returned to the Vienna Concert Hall after 9 years. The audiences gave an extensive standing ovation to a truly magical show.

Hoerl and the Wiener Konzerthaus.
ORF (Austrian Radio Broadcasting) in Cooperation with Unitel will broadcast the gala concert in over 30 countries.
