New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Female fronted punk-rock/grunge outfit Castle Black released a music video for their single "Seeing In Blue" today, after a premiere on New Noise Magazine earlier this week. Layering twisted and tinted scenes, supernatural vibes and plenty of hard-hitting rock n' roll action, the video is a perfect depiction of the Brooklyn-based trio's atmospheric vibe and powerful sonic-packed sound.

Leigh Celent, guitarist and vocalist of Castle Black, shared further on the inspiration and motivation behind the video's scenes. "Erik (director) had a vision for the video, it was one we would not have come up with ourselves, which made this video really fun for us, and hopefully for our viewers - it's kind of a glimpse into a different side of us and the music."

The play of color and filters represents a strong questioning of reality, as the video's characters play out in a bizarre scenario of delivery boy taken hostage. "Everything is skewed when the blue filter is on, what is reality, what is not..." said Celent, who thanked friend Richie Bee (of Deitre) for his role of delivery boy in the video.

Director Erik Kops, of Brooklyn's PurpleThrone Productions shared, "Castle Black intrigue me. To me, their music and vibe touches on the supernatural but still packs that rock and roll punch. I wanted the video to reflect that. Some inspiration was derived from the film The Witches (1990) starring Angelica Houston, which I saw as a kid and remember thinking witches were real, and perhaps the old lady down the street was one!" Exclusive interview cuts and behind the scene footage from the video can be found on the PurpleThrone music discovery app, accessible via iTunes here.

"Seeing In Blue" comes off the band's EP Trapped Under All You Know released this past summer. With an infusion of genres and influences, they take inspiration from 70's punk and 90's grunge - reminiscent of acts such as Sleater-Kinney, The Dead Weather, Hole, Savages, and Bikini Kill.

The track and full EP can be purchased on Castle Black's Bandcamp here. The band will celebrate with a video release show this Saturday, December 16 at The Well in Brooklyn, NY (event link). With more videos and new music in the works for 2018 and regular shows in support, you'll want to give Castle Black a close follow.

Castle Black is a Brooklyn-based rock trio, bringing a powerful and thunderous sound, full of hard-hitting jams, never sacrificing the hook. Described as drawing from punk, post-punk, grunge, alternative and new wave, Castle Black refuses to be pinned down to a genre. Each song careens through an almost stream of consciousness depiction of life stories, social anthems and raw emotions. Gritty female vocals, subtle back-up adornments, roaring drums, canny bass and guitar-forward hooks collide, staying in your head for days on end.

They have been described as "the kind of band you want to catch on the way up" (New York Music Daily), whose "sound is an inventive and stimulating mixture of genres," making "Castle Black's style one of a kind." (Indie Rock Café) Castle Black is "capturing the NY sound with a subdued, crunchy Garage-band sound with a slight L-7-esque edge to their own concoction." (Musically Fresh)

Their first EP, Find You There, was released in August 2015, with a follow-up single "Dark Light: A Plague Revisited" released in May 2016. Their second EP, Losing Forever, as well as their video for "Dark Light" were released in October 2016. A limited-edition lathe-cut record for their single "Blind Curtain" was released in April 2017, on Leesta Vall Sound Recordings. Their third studio EP, Trapped Under All You Know, was released in August 2017. "Seeing in Blue" premiered on The Big Takeover, followed by a full EP premiere on AXS. Several music videos are in the works, the first to be released for "Seeing in Blue" in December.

Castle Black has played several popular festivals, including Mondo Fest, Northside Fest, NJ Shore Fest and Staten Island's PrideFest. The band was selected through an audition process as one of a handful of female-fronted groups for Summer on the Hudson's Make Some Noise Festival in 2017, which highlighted women musicians making an impact on the NYC music scene. They have opened for several notable acts, including Richard Lloyd (of Television), Big D and the Kids Table and POD. Indie Rock Café selected Castle Black for their Best DIY and Indie Rock 2016 list. The band has toured to Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York State, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington DC. Their songs have been played on both domestic and international radio shows, including Strawberry Tongue Radio, Banks Radio Australia, Vulcan Sound Radio, Rock Radio UK, Radio Free Brooklyn, Radio KSCR, Lionheart Radio UK, Lucky Star Radio, Radio Tatras International, Kane FM, Valley FM 89.5, 3rd Strike Radio, Riviera FM and many more.
