 NEW
YORK (LaCalle Records) - Producer Kaydean and LaCalle Records' Latin
Hip-Hop & R&B recording artists Mente Urbana and Janid recently
finished contributing their urban sound and flavor to the soundtrack of
Puerto Rican mini series "El Ultimo Caso del Detective Prado." Kaydean
was approached by Producer and Screenwriter, Jos Artemio, in an effort
to give the detective mini series an urban edge. Although the
mini-series was originally scored by renowned Latin Jazz trumpeter
Humberto Ramrez, the addition of Mente Urbana and Janid provides
additional realism since it successfully combines the street rhythms of
east Coast R&B and Hip-Hop with the flavor and heart of the Latin
culture. With only a week left to edit the movie, producer
Kaydean and singer Janid got together, analyzed the plot and the
characters and in one weekend produced, recorded and mixed several
tracks especially written for the mini series. Additionally, songs from
Mente Urbana's debut album, "MU:One", Janid's yet untitled solo album
and Kaydean's 5th solo album "Tranceformed", were presented to Mr.
Artemio and successfully added to the mini series soundtrack. Mente
Urbana will be performing live on Cultura Viva during a special show
which will air Thursday, February 17 on TuTV, Channel 6 at 7 P.M. The
mini series, "El Ultimo Caso del Detective Prado" will air from
February 22-24, also on Channel 6. LaCalle Records plans to
release Mente Urbana's debut album "MU:One", Kaydean's "Tranceformed"
and Janid's solo project later this year along with a national tour
covering the United States and Puerto Rico. For more information, visit
