LOS ANGELES (Afrotanic Marketing) - One of the largest annual events in the world for hard rock music and a platform for building a large fan base for bands such as
Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Terror,
As I Lay Dying and other emerging artists, the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival has attracted thousands of hard rock and metal fans since 1999. Scheduled this year for April 22 - 24 in Worcester, Massachusetts at The Palladium, organizers will be distributing 15,000 free compilation CD's across the New England states to assist in advertising the festival to a wider audience.
Music from established record labels such as Epic Records, Century Media Records, Sanctuary Records, Roadrunner Records, and Nuclear Blast Records along side new, breakout labels such as Prosthetic Records, Trustkill Records, Solid State Records and Type A Records will be featured on the CD's. Confirmed artists include Eighteen Visions, Candiria, Extol, It Dies Today and Gizmachi, who are presently on tour with Slipknot. In addition, an entire compilation CD of unsigned talent from the best bands across the world in the metal and hardcore genres will be made available.
"We're always looking for new ways to get the word out about our event," says festival co-founder Scott Lee of MassConcerts. "The past couple of years, Uranium/Fuse TV have been heavily involved and we also release a live DVD to retail. Getting these CD's out is a quick way to promote the festival and because they are free, gives great exposure to all of the featured bands."
"There is a lot of great talent out there," says Randy Spencer of Afrotanic Marketing, who oversees the creation, song selection and distribution of the compilation CD's. "We have received submissions from all over the world and have come across some great bands from England, Singapore, and Australia and across the U.S. We are excited to assist in long term branding for New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and already plan to put together another series of CD's in 2006. It's been a blast so far to work on this project and also assist in growing a loyal fan base for a lot of great artists."
A limited number of songs are still available to be confirmed for the CD's and submissions from signed and unsigned bands are currently being accepted. Submissions can be directed to:
