New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Joey Costello, the American Singer-songwriter who quit his corporate job in
Chicago so he could write music in Nottingham will be featured on this year's Splendour Festival in Wollaton Park on the Acoustic Rooms Stage.
Costello is an independent American Singer-songwriter whose songs have been described as "soulful chart folk." He originally came to Nottingham as part of a work secondment in 2015 when he was employed as a corporate business consultant. After a nearly five year hiatus from releasing music, Costello's experience in Nottingham, in particular on the open mic scene, inspired him to make a full-time comeback to music.
"The music community in Nottingham is as talented, kind, and supportive as anywhere I've been. I remember when I first arrived here, it was very much a breath of fresh air," says Costello. "I think the best part is the willingness of everyone to share and collaborate. It's extremely genuine here. A spectacular place to let go and be yourself."
Costello is fresh off the release of his latest EP titled The Wind Blows By on June 15th, 2018 and is currently in the midst of a summer UK tour which includes 4 East Midlands dates; where he will be visiting Nottingham, Sheffield, and Leicester.
When Costello is not touring, you can catch him locally in Nottingham as the resident host of Acoustic Rooms at the Rescue Rooms every Monday night through July 23rd.

Joey Costello is an American Singer-songwriter whose music is best described as heart warming "soulful folk." Possessing a voice that is characteristic of his influences;
Ray LaMontagne and
Damien Rice, Joey also utilizes a falsetto that defines his sound beyond any single element. Compared sometimes to Passenger, and City and Colour, Joey often builds his songs around profound statements transformed into catchy hooks.
