Amos Lee Announces First 2019 U.S. Tour Dates
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Following news that his acclaimed new album 'My New Moon' has debuted at #7 on Billboard's Current Albums Chart, and Top 5 on four additional charts, Amos Lee has announced the first of his 2019 U.S. headlining tour dates. The new dates will include Amos' first hometown Philadelphia show in years - a special performance at the Metropolitan Opera House featuring the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia - as well as two nights at Austin's ACL Live at The Moody Theater and Lee's first stops in Chicago, Boston and over a dozen other cities since the release of 'My New Moon.' The album has been called "the most personal and deeply felt of his seven studio albums" by Billboard. It also debuted at #1 on the Rock and Americana/Folk charts, #2 on the Independent Album chart, #3 on the Vinyl chart, and more.

'My New Moon' has received some of the highest critical praise of Lee's career, lauded as "music to help listeners heal" by Salon and for his "soulful voice and empathetic lyrics" by NPR Music. Particularly poignant is album standout "Crooked," an incendiary takedown of corruption, misinformation and lies in the current political landscape, which has been hailed as "maybe the first great protest song of the Trump era" by AM New York, "haunting folk songwriting" by Rolling Stone and "in true protest folk fashion" by Pandora's Best of The Month round-up. World Café/NPR Music recently featured an acoustic performance of the single "No More Darkness, No More Light" - a song inspired by the aftermath of the Parkland tragedy and the positive change the survivors brought from such a dark situation. Watch that here: https://n.pr/2AFhQ75

Listen to Amos discuss the Charlottesville-inspired 'My New Moon' B-side "Dying White Light" with NPR's 1A: https://bit.ly/2PfVyeI.

Amos will perform both of these new songs on CBS Saturday this week, airing September 15. The first leg of Lee's 'My New Moon' U.S. tour kicks off on Friday at New York's Beacon Theater, and before that he'll sit down for a special acoustic performance and Q&A with journalist Alan Light from The Strand's Rare Book Room this Thursday September 13.
