(Ana Christina International/ Boden PR) - Today, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Songwriters (ASCAP) announces the appointment of Ana Cristina to their roster of top songwriters and composers. The 19 year-old Miami native, who signed with Sony Discos at the age of 15 and not only composes and writes her own songs in English and in Spanish, but also possesses a 5 octave-vocal range, joins the ranks of Beyonce, Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keyes as one of the nation's leading songwriters and composers. "As a pianist, guitarist, composer, songwriter and vocalist, Ana Cristina brings together a range of talent hardly ever seen in this industry. There was no doubt we wanted her to become part of our association as we know she will be a world renowned composer for years to come," stated Karl Avanzini, Associate Director East Coast, ASCAP. Ana Cristina will be performing at the ASCAP showcase in Macarena, located in Miami Beach, on March 9th at 8:30 pm before top representatives of the film and TV industry as she is currently writing music for a motion picture film and Broadway musical. Her work is being considered as the theme song. She will be performing alongside songwriter Victor Daniel who composed Celia Cruz's 'La Vida es un Carnaval' and Alfredo Matheus who composed Cristian Castro's 'Lloran Las Rosas'. Ana Cristina, who made history as the first Hispanic ever to sing The Star Spangled Banner acapella at the Presidential Inauguration '05, will now be debuting her music and talent as the headliner act at the Calle Ocho Festival on March 13th, before 1 million + spectators. Her songs are a result of her bi-cultural background: from Latin Pop and Salsa rhythms to powerful R&B ballads.
