YORK (Highland Grounds Website) The
Highland Grounds, under the
direction of Michael McCarthy, renowned Disney Composer and performer
in his own right presents weekly evening entertainment. It is a venue
for new artists to try out their new material in a relaxing
environment. Producers, Directors and Talent Scouts have been seen at
the Friday and Saturday shows. These are the concerts where the
Highland Grounds gleens the local favorites from the open mics every
Wednesday.
On March 12, 2005 at 7:30 The
Highland Grounds will
feature former US Army soloist and keyboardist who entertained the
troops in Iraq and several other countries. She is "Amethyst", a name
that a fan gave her -and it stuck. He said, "An amethyst is a precious
jewel formed from iron, sand and heat - She is the jewel of the
Desert...she has emerged, an Amethyst". She indeed is precious to those
soldiers who endured the heat from 2002 to 2003 out in Uzbekistan,
Afghanistan, Kuwait. She traveled with the USA Express Touring Band in
a long convoy through the desert to every camp in Iraq.

music, you are certain to enjoy the
Highland Grounds Cafe's weekend
concert March 12, at 7:30 pm to 10 pm. See you there. The cover is only
5.00.
The cafe not only features musicians extrodinaire, but
is a haven of soft lighting, and professional equipment to host the
event. The food is an eclectic mix of Vegetarian and California Casual
Cuisine. Alcoholic beverages are served in this establishment but it is
the type of venue that everyone is welcome.
Don't forget to come
visit and enjoy open Mic night on Wednesdays ($3.00 cover). To sign up,
you need to be there at 7:00 in person. There are strict rules and
guidelines that need to be adhered to. You may not call in advance to
sign up yet the result is a fabulous cross of comedy and musical

Highland exit off the 101 going South. Continue on
Highland Blvd south
bound until you see it on your left. If you see a donut shop, gas
station and Tire Pros, you are very close. Parking is at a premium in
the back and on the street.
