NEW
YORK (Obelisk Entertainment) - On March 25 2005, Obelisk Entertainment
presents the release of Odel's solo CD, Mind & Body Sold, at the
Mod Club 722 College St.
Hosted by dub-poet extraordinaire
Clifton Joseph, the night promises to be sensational. Also joining the
festivities will be the Iyah Yant Drummers, Caribbean Dance Theatre,
and dub/trip-hop singer TK2000, along with DJ Chocolate on the wheels
of steel.
You do not want to miss this event; it will be a
celebration indeed! Reggae fans will be energised by the power of
Odel's roots-rock-reggae stylings. Mind & Body Sold generates the
warmth and vitality of a summer music festival. The music features
ska-style horns, wailing rock guitar, lively Latin beats and harmonic
choral accents. Alongside Toronto's Hardcore Posse, Odel will bring the
musical and lyrical richness of his debut CD to the stage of the Mod
Club on March 25, 2005.
Odel's talent as a musician is well
known to audiences around the world. His driving drum beats kept dub
fans dancing at last year's DubSplash with Mikey Dread and Scientist.
From 1993 to 1998, Odel was a member of Toronto's 1997 Juno
award-winning Messenjah. He has also toured international stages with
such reggae legends as Uroy, Big Youth, Michael Rose, Mighty Diamonds,
Sugar Minott, Eek-A-Mouse, and the Fully Fullwood Band to name a few.
On
March 25, 2005 you too will be able to see and hear this bright young
star at the Mod Club for the release of his debut CD Mind & Body
Sold.
Doors open at 9 and the show starts at 10pm.
