YORK (www.thefairfaxjubilaires.org) - The Fairfax Jubil-Aires, a
barbershop harmony chorus, will present its 49th Annual Show, "So
Happy" on Saturday, March 19th at the Ernst Theater on the NOVA
Annandale Campus. NOVA is located on
Little River Turnpike (Route 236),
west of the Washington Beltway. The event will offer two performances
at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m., respectively.
The show will also feature
performances from the International Champions Bluegrass Student Union
and the Ricochet Comedy Quartet. The Bluegrass Student Union is a
barbershop quartet based in Louisville, Kentucky. The foursome sings a
cappella adaptations of popular American songs from the 1930's and
1940's. Millions have been entertained by this group over the last 20
years including President Reagan during his presidency. The Ricochet
Comedy Quartet treats music lovers to an amusing performance with their
signature West Virginia brand of humor.
"Our shows are great fun
for the whole family," said Mike Stoll, Vice President of Marketing for
the Fairfax Jubil-Aires. "We inject humor, fun and showmanship into
each performance. That passion and enthusiasm really resonates with
audiences."

Each year, in addition to
their annual show, the Jubil-Aires chorus and quartets perform
throughout the area. Performance venues include the White House
Ellipse, Fairfax City parade and fireworks displays, county and city
parks, cable TV, ballparks, senior citizen residences, conventions,
banquets, and other social events.
The group meets at 7:30 PM
each Tuesday at Old Town Hall in (Old Town) Fairfax City on the corner
of University Drive and Main Street.
Director Tom Meier is a dynamic
and innovative barbershopper and leader. Visitors are encouraged and
always welcomed, whether they come to sing or just to enjoy listening
to a musical style that has pleased people for over one hundred years.

Fairfax Jubil-Aires are members of the Fairfax, Virginia chapter of the
Barbershop Harmony Society, a society for the Preservation and
Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in
America (SPEBSQSA). The
