New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Japanese bandleader and one of the world's most played musicians, Minoru Mukaiya, recorded his new album, "The Games - East Meets West 2018" at United Recording. The album, released in October, features both Japanese and American jazz musicians, to create a harmonious blend of rhythms and cultures.

Mukaiya, best known as the former keyboardist of the jazz fusion band Casiopea, released more than 30 albums and toured the world, opening for legendary musicians like Mile Davis. He is also the composer of "Hassha Merodii" or train departure melodies that Japanese commuters listen to everyday at some of the world's busiest stations. His work has produced more than 170 short jingles for over 100 train stations throughout Japan.

For his latest album, Mukaiya collaborated with his Tokyo bandmates and American jazz heavyweights including, Ernie Watts, Harvey Mason, Abe Laborial Sr., Paul Jackson Jr. and Don Grusin. He also enlisted his longtime friend and co-producer Don Grusin to create the title song.

In November, Mukaiya and fellow musicians will embark in on a three-city tour in Japan to support the album, which heralds the 2020 Olympic Games.
