Saturday On The Street With Jackson - Again!

NEW YORK (Eyejammie Press) - Contemporary artist Jackson Brown will set up a large blank canvas on the sidewalk in front of the Eyejammie Fine Arts Gallery at one o'clock on Saturday, March 19 and spend the next five hours painting an oil portrait of hiphop legend LL Cool J from scratch. The Eyejammie Gallery is located at 516 W.25th Street between 10 and 11th Avenues.

It was exactly one month ago that Brown painted a portrait of Kool G Rap on the street in front of the Eyejammie Gallery. Earlier that day, the Queens-born artist had prepared for his work by batting out a series of pushups as he listened to LL's 1990 recording of "Mama Said Knock You Out."

Although Brown's show at Eyejammie - "Follow the Leader: Portraits of the HipHop Avant-Garde" - opened on February 4, Brown explains his non-stop productivity by noting he's "still swinging for the fences." The finished portrait of LL will join the portrait of Kool G Rap and several other new paintings at a "re-opening" of Brown's show on Friday, April 8.
