LOS
ANGELES (Lost City Angels PR) - Currently winding down their second
tour this spring so far (on the road with Tiger Army now; previously
with
Catch 22), hardcore upstarts LOST CITY ANGELS have just been
invited to support
Social Distortion on their upcoming national tour
from May 12th to mid-June. This will mark the third time the two bands
have toured together... this time however, the Angels will be Social
D's direct support. "I think the last Social D tour we did, I had no
idea if it was going to be our last or their last," said drummer Adam
Shaw. "With everything that was going on in the world, who knew what
would happen next. To see us on another Social D tour is beyond a
f*ckin' stoke, I think for once in my life someone answered my
prayers.."
As a band who not only influenced Lost City Angels
but also took them under their wing,
Social Distortion supported LCA
when they were just starting out. "In all honestly, Social D is a big
part of the history of our band. They taught us so much and we owe them
a ton," replied guitarist Drew Suxx. Adds Adam, "We really wanted to
see what Mike [Ness of Social D] thought of the new record. When we
found out he really liked it enough to ask us to tour with him, my mind
once again was blown away."
Their second album, Broken World has
been pulling in stunning reviews from the media... from a
four-out-of-four bunny review in Playboy (" [Broken World] is sure to
rank among the most exciting releases of the entire summer") to a
five-out-of-five in Alternative Press ("During the best moments of
Broken World, Boston's LOST CITY ANGELS sound like all your favorite
punk bands simultaneously... But while a less talented band would trip
a less talented band would trip over these influences, the Angels tame
them like circus lions"). Released early April 2005 on Stay Gold
Records, Broken World combines the brooding dark intensity of goth with
the frenetic, jack- hammer-energy of hardcore and 70s-style punk.
Having
toured in the past with such luminaries as Agnostic Front, Dropkick
Murphys, Murphy's Law, and, of course, Social Distortion, LCA aren't
strangers to the road. With this past Winter's
Catch 22 tour behind
them and soon the Spring's Tiger Army tour a memory, the next round of
non-stop dates on the road with
Social Distortion plus WARPED Tour in
July shouldn't phase them. "We f*cking love the road... The ups the
downs - just the expierience alone can drive you nuts, but it is what I
personally need in life," explains Adam. "Home may be where the heart
is, and right now, the road is my home."
