NEW YORK (Warner Bros.) - Warner Bros. Records/Asylum/SwishaHouse are proud to announce the release of "Who Is Mike Jones?" today, Tuesday, April 19th, from heavily sought-after debuting rapper Mike Jones. With the fifteen-track CD and a bonus "Chopped and Screwed" version included, Jones, the rising hip-hop star, gets his chance to enlighten the world fully of his presence.

Having already set the pace of the debut, Mike Jones, a former pavement-pounding, dues-paying rapper, scored the bass-heavy, automobile anthem of the year with "Still Tippin'" featuring close cronies Slim Thug and Paul Wall. The video for "Still Tippin'" has garnered way above average airplay on both MTV and BET for a new artist.

An inevitable press blitz followed the success of the single, with the most recent accolade of gracing the cover of the Arts & Leisure section of NY Times (April 17). Other press amassed includes pieces in outlets such as Blender, Vibe, Entertainment Weekly, XXL, and Source. Jones also graces the covers of core hip-hop magazines such as Ozone and Murder Dog. Moreover, Jones is making the rounds with a number of television appearances this year including a performance on BET's "106 & Park," the annual "Spring Bling" event and an interview on "Rap City" as well as MTV's "Direct Effect." All of this fanfare comes on the strength of his witty rhymes which he began developing in 2001, when he first began promoting his music.

That year, Jones launched Ice Age Entertainment to earn a name throughout his hometown of Houston, Texas. He released the self-distributed "Ice Age Vol. 1" that caught the attention of SwishaHouse owner DJ Michael Watts and made him a local star. A year later, Jones opted to sign an artist deal with SwishaHouse, the independent Houston-based powerhouse. Shortly thereafter, SwishaHouse would become a part of Asylum Records, Warner Music Group's (WMG) urban incubator label which provides promotional, sales and marketing services to independent music companies. As Jones' popularity grew, Asylum and WMG's Warner Bros. Records teamed up to release his debut CD, "Who Is Mike Jones?"

Jones' entrepreneurial know-how and unique collaboration with Asylum and Warner Bros. Records led to other opportunities for the charismatic rapper. And earlier this month, Jones headed out on a tour full of radio dates to support the radio success of the single.
With this running start, it is only a matter of time before the entire world gets a full fledge taste of who Mike Jones really is.
