Julia Michaels Releases Inner Monologue Part 2
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Grammy Award-nominated multiplatinum singer and songwriter JULIA MICHAELS unveils INNER MONOLOGUE PART 2 today via Republic Records/Universal Music. The eight-track collection sees the songstress strip down her sound to the barest of emotions and most honest of stories.
Of Inner Monologue Part 2, she admitted, "I definitely feel like it picks up where I left off. It talks about heartbreak, love, and self-image more than anything."

The opener "17" captures the bliss of high school love over lithe acoustic guitar and organic percussion, while "Falling For Boys" pairs sparse strumming and breathy vocals and a confessional chorus, "I like guys with big lips that treat me like shit…people I can fix that leave when there good again…I keep falling for boys and mistaking them for men" Meanwhile, "Hurt Again" blossoms into a bold, bright, and beautiful chant that underlies its bittersweet theme.

Of the song, she said, "I love love! I'd get my heartbroken a hundred times if that I meant I got to experience love. That's what 'Hurt Again' is about."

Last night, Julia delivered the first late night television performance of the song during a special LIVE taping on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Inner Monologue Part 2 arrives hot on the heels of Inner Monologue Part 1. On Spotify alone, cumulative streams for the project exceed 145 million to date. Upon arrival, it entered the iTunes Top Pop Albums Chart at #1 and clinched the #5 spot on the Overall Top Albums Chart. Among a bevy of fan favorites, it also housed "What A Time" featuring Niall Horan. The latter scored a nod at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards in the category of "Choice Music - Collaboration." Fans voted throughout the past week on Twitter, and the winner will be revealed on August 11, 2019. Be sure to tune in!

No stranger to the winner's circle, she recently took home "Collaborative Video of the Year" at the 2019 CMT Awards for Keith Urban's country smash "Coming Home," which she not only co-wrote, but lends her voice too

In addition to touring the U.S. with P!NK these last few months, Julia also embarked on her first-ever headline tour. After a run of multiple sold out shows, she recently announced the second leg of THE INNER MONOLOGUE TOUR given the widespread fan demand. The next leg kicks off October 16 in Tempe, AZ and stops coast-to-coast. Check out the full confirmed itinerary below.
Partake in the most intimate conversation of the year with Julia Michaels on Inner Monologue Part 2.

GRAMMY Award-nominated singer and songwriter Julia Michaels has transformed the pop music landscape not only from behind-the-scenes as one of the most in-demand songwriters, but in the spotlight as a solo artist as well. Her rapid rise can be attributed to identifiable honesty in every lyric, as exemplified in her triple-platinum selling debut single "Issues". In 2018, she garnered GRAMMY® Awards nominations in the categories of "Best New Artist" and "Song of the Year" for "Issues," which amassed nearly 2 billion streams worldwide. Continuing that success, "Issues" notably became "the top-selling debut single by an artist in 2017," and placed as the only solo female composition on Variety's "30 Most Consumed Songs of 2017."

As a songwriter, MICHAELS has co-written 21 titles that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, eleven of which have hit the Top 40, including "Issues." Those songwriting credits include smashes like Justin Bieber's "Sorry," Selena Gomez's "Good for You" [feat. A$AP Rocky] & "Hands To Myself," and Hailee Steinfeld's "Love Myself." She's also written titles for Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, P!NK, Maroon 5, Jessie Ware, Janelle Monae, Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes and more. The cumulative worldwide stream tally for songs she has co-written is 20 billion to date.

Since her debut as a solo artist, MICHAELS has built an enviable touring resume, joining artists like Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, and P!NK, around the globe.

THE INNER MONOLOGUE TOUR - CANADIAN DATES:
10/31 Montréal, QC - Corona Theatre
11/1 Toronto, ON - The Phoenix Concert Theatre
