ATLANTA, GA. (Atlanta Jazz Festival PR)
Who: Alicia Keys
Who: Kenny G
When: Saturday, April 30th, 2005
When: Saturday, May 27th, 2005
Time: 8pm
Where: Chastain Park Amphitheatre, Atlanta, Ga.

Known for impeccable talent and an array of many types of jazz, the Atlanta Jazz Festival is proud to present two more artists that define individuality through their unique soulful and steamy jazz sounds! Kicking off this year's 31 Days of Jazz with her personally expressive sounds, Alicia Keys will perform Saturday, April 30 at Chastain Park Amphitheatre. Continuing this display of soulful personal expression in music, the Atlanta Jazz Festival is very pleased to present jazz legend and saxophone specialist Kenny G at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre on Friday, May 27th.

With nine Grammy awards, eleven Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, three World Music awards, two MTV Video Music awards, two MTV Europe awards, one NAACP Image award in 2004, two Nickelodeon Teen Choice Awards, one BET award, three Soul Train Music awards, one Soul Train Lady of Soul award, and one My VH1 award, Alicia Keys has been a busy songstress since she erupted full force into the music scene in June of 2001.

With a style that can only be described as a combination of hip-hop, jazz, soul and classical music, Keys enjoys intermingling her own musical rhythms with the soulful influences of Nina Simone, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder, as well as lyricists such as Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z and the Wu-Tang Clan.

"My music doesn't have a beginning or end. It's continuous. I didn't stop writing after the first album came out, and everything I wrote since came from experiences in my life, of being on the road, traveling and dealing with different situations...I don't put myself in any kind of box; I speak freely with my music," explained Keys.

More proof that speaking from your heart can lead to success, legendary artist Kenny G has sold over 70 million albums already worldwide, and is proud to feature his fifteenth album on Arista Records entitled, At Last...The Duets Album. You won't want to miss this second concert date presented by the Atlanta Jazz Festival featuring an intimate evening with the magical music and smooth sounds of Kenny G!

With his current album having already secured the #1 spot on the Current Overall Jazz chart and "Contemporary Jazz" chart upon its debut and a coveted place in the Billboard Top 200 at #40, scanning 50,496 units its first week out. In addition, the album has been certified gold by the RIAA. At Last... also debuted at #15 on the R&B overall chart and the first single from the album The Way You Move with Earth, Wind & Fire was the #1 most added single at AC and Urban Adult Radio.

"It's shows like this that help provide the funds for our Memorial Day Festival," said Director of the Bureau of Cultural Affairs for the City of Atlanta Camille Russell Love. "Not only does Alicia Keys and Kenny G provide incredible entertainment, but this is also a great way for music lovers to attend and show their support for the Atlanta Jazz Festival."
