NEW YORK (Atlantic Records) - T.I. continued to give back to the community while collaborating with the It?s Cool To Be Smart Single Parent Initiative. On Thursday, April 21st, T.I. and Grand Hustle Management spent time talking to over 150 youth at the Paulding Detention Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Historically, the music industry has influenced this young population, and 'it was a privilege to have Atlantic Recording Artist T.I., take time from his busy schedule to come talk with the kids,' stated Curtis B. Executive Director of the Single Parent Initiative. It was an exciting learning experience for the youth; as well as, the staff to witness inspiring testimonies from T.I. that focused on staying out of situations that will place the youth in juvenile facilities. T.I. also answered important questions on topics concerning education; giving back to the community; and being successful in the music industry. Also, the day involved the young teens reading poems about becoming a role model, and having faith to move through difficult situations in life. The Administration applauded, T.I. on his powerful messages about drugs, gang violence and 'staying focused on being the best that they can be without being a low-down thug.' The kids were mesmerized by T.I.'s presence that impacted every youth at the facility. The youth at Paulding RYDC will never forget T.I.'s special visit and his words of encouragement that will forever be instilled in their lives. To date, T.I., Grand Hustle Management, and Atlantic Records have helped provide scholarships for single parent families at the Boys and Girls Clubs as well as, providing hope for the young teens at the detention centers in Atlanta. T.I, Grand Hustle Management, and Atlantic Records are making a difference in our communities.
