First Time Filmmaker Dilan Jay Wins 'Best Action Film' At Austin Festival
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "Winning Best Action Film at my first ever festival in America is a huge honor...And it's a testament to the hard work my team put in to make this film not only entertaining, but something meaningful to watch." — Dilan Jay

Dilan Jay, a first time independent filmmaker and actor from Los Angeles, took home the top award at Austin's action festival, Iron Dragon TV Action Fest, making it his 4th award for Hollow Point. Hollow Point has now received more than 3 domestic distribution deal offers in 2019.

Iron Dragon TV Action Fest (IDTVAF) limited submissions to their niche festival to 50 films, with only 7 awards selected for independent filmmakers from around the world. Dilan Jay's Hollow Point recently screened as an official selection at the 5th Annual Jackie Chan International Action Film Week, as well as NIAFFS in Seville, Spain, where he accepted 3 awards for Best Director, Best Score, and Best Male Stuntman.

"Winning Best Action Film at my first ever festival in America is a huge honor," commented Dilan Jay, "And it's a testament to the hard work my team put in to make this film not only entertaining, but something meaningful to watch."

Dilan Jay's mission as a filmmaker and actor stems from a trending vision to see more minorities, including women, in key roles in the film industry. Dilan deliberately recruited and casted women as Director of Photography, Line Producer, 1st Assistant Director, and switched a male lead for the female lead actress, Juju Chan (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny). Dilan's film career started when he starred in the second largest budgeted film in Sri Lanka, the country where his family immigrated from, called Looking Back On The Lion, which is played annually to this day. To date, Dilan has written 3 different screenplays for film and TV, one deal of which was optioned with Benny Medina's production company, Imprimatur, in 2018.

Hollow Point stars Luke Goss (Blade II, Hellboy: The Golden Army), Juju Chan, Jay Mohr (Jerry Maguire, Street Kings), Michael Pare (The Infiltrator, The Lincoln Lawyer), Bill Duke (Mandy, Predator), and Dilan Jay as principal lead actor Professor Nolan Cooray — making Dilan the first lead actor from his country of heritage to star in an American action film.

Hollow Point is being represented for sales by Bleiberg Entertainment in Beverly Hills, with international sales already concluded in Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
