LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - A San Luis Obispo, Calif., Superior Court judge has thrown out a lawsuit which accused thrash metal act Slayer of distributing death metal to minors and subsequently encouraging the murder of a 15-year-old girl, according to Billboard. Originally filed in 1996 by the parents of Elyse Pahler , who was murdered in 1995 by three boys claiming that Slayer's music inspired them to commit the crime, the suit alleged Pahler's murder could have been avoided had the three boys not been the target of "adult-oriented" material marketed to minors. The three boys received 25 years to life sentences in the case. Lawyers for Pahler's parents plan on appealing the decision.
