LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - The new breed of hard rockers continued to gain sales and rack up gold, platinum, and multi-platinum awards from the Recording Industry Association of America in October.

Among them are Linkin Park, whose Hybrid Theory was certified for sales of 4 million this month; Disturbed got its first multi-platinum award for sales of 2 million of I>The Sickness; P.O.D. received its second gold album for Satellite and its second platinum album for 1999's The Fundamental Elements of Southtown; Slipknot's Iowa went both gold and platinum; Nickelback's debut, The State saw gold; and System of a Down scored gold and platinum for its latest, Toxicity.

Receiving their platinum awards (for sales of 1 million) this month are Andreas Vollenweider's Down To the Moon, Donnie McClurkin's Live In London & More, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve & Other Stories. First-time gold (for sales of 500,000) recipients include Afroman (The Good Times), Fabolous (Ghetto Fabolous), Puddle of Mudd (Come Clean), Rich Mullins (Songs), and Dream Street (Dream Street).

Meanwhile, Madonna adds another Diamond Award to her pile as The Immaculate Collection is certified for sales of 10 million this month. The Eagles' long-form video, Hell Freezes Over, is up to eight times platinum, making it one of the top three highest certified videos in RIAA history.
