(Launch) - Four singer-songwriters have been chosen to open for Jewel on Thursday at the Rumsey Play Field in Central Park, New York. The concert, billed as the Pantene Pro-Voice Summer Showcase, will feature semi-finalists Rachel Diggs, 22, from Agoura Hills, Calif.; Celia Kipp, 22, from Baltimore; Stella Maxwell, 22, from Austin, Texas; Libbie Schrader, 22, from Portland, Ore.; and Johnaa Spruill, 24, from Greenbelt, Md. The winner of Thursday's competition will be awarded a demo recording contract from Atlantic Records and a $10,000 endowment to the high school of her choice. Plus the winner will have a slot on tour for a major-label act. A panel of musicians and music industry professionals will judge the performances. The judge list includes Laurie Anderson, Sandra Bernhard, Laura Morgan, Kathy Najimy, Andy Shane, Kimora Lee Simmons and Lee Stimmel.
