NASHVILLE, TN. (Arista Nashville) - Country sensation
Keith Anderson is ready to supersize the summertime airwaves with 'XXL,' the follow-up to his Top 10 Arista Nashville smash, 'Pickin' Wildflowers.' Even as radio catches the latest wave of rockin' fun from 2005's only new solo artist to land a debut single in the Billboard and
Radio & Records country Top 10, Anderson is gearing up to perform on the 2005 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, airing on Labor Day,
September 5.
Keith's airplay success is poised to continue with 'XXL,' which hit country radio in a big way as one of the most-added new songs two weeks running, while Music Row's Robert K. Oermann raved, ''XXL' is a terrific tempo tune with a personality packed vocal that is going to help turn his Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll CD into a Platinum record.'
True enough, over the past eight weeks, the excitement over Anderson's debut disc has made for a brisk sales average of well over 10,000 units a week. Meanwhile, his video for 'Pickin' Wildflowers' continues going strong on CMT – Country Music Television, where it previously hit No 1 on the Top 20 Countdown and remains a Top 10 favorite this week.
In addition to the popularity of his video, Keith has been enjoying TV time on a variety of other programs, but his upcoming Labor Day appearance is one that holds a personal fondness. Keith recalls, 'When I was a kid, every Labor Day weekend, I was glued to my TV set watching the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. Of course, I was impressed by the stars who would perform, but equally by the passionate efforts of so many to raise money for Jerry's kids. I hold a special place in my heart for children's charities – for years, my parents have been actively involved with foster children.'
As AOL Music's only country Breaker artist of the summer, earning 'A'-level positioning from the online powerhouse, Anderson could be found enjoying 'What's Hot' home page real estate alongside Sheryl Crow earlier this week, as AOL Music pegged him 'A Country Hunk with Heart.'
Fans can be watching for Anderson on the road now, and he joins Rascal Flatts on September 24 for the first of selected fall dates on their 'Here's to You' tour, the fourth most-ticketed tour of the year.
