BURBANK, CA. (Reprise Records) - JDub Records / Reprise Records will release "Hanukkah Rocks," the debut album from The LeeVees, on October 25th. Guster's Adam Gardner and The Zamboni's Dave Schneider have joined forces to bring you an instant indie-pop Hanukkah classic. Producer Peter Katis (Interpol, Get Up Kids) embraced the music that sprang from the hearts and minds of these two musicians whose careers have been steeped in indie pop. The song styles range from the Kinks-meets-Clem Snide feel of "Jewish Girls (At the Matzoh Ball)" to the punk crunch of Ramones-inspired, "Gelt Melts" to the Hawaiian-sounding ode to a retiree who longs to be in Florida, "At the Timeshare." Yes, every song is about Hanukkah. Some say such a concept is a bit obsessive but Adam and Dave prefer the phrase "extremely focused." "We take our Hanukkah music very seriously, but the record is full of humor," says Schneider. "By all means we laugh at ourselves and we'll gladly laugh along with anyone else as long as they buy the CD." The first track from the album, "Latke Clan," will be available digitally on September 13th, the digital album is out on September 27th and the ultimate holiday gift of The LeeVees CD will be in stores on October 25th.
