Jamie O'Neal Scores Cut On Desperate Housewives Soundtrack

Nashville, TN (Capitol Records) – Capitol recording artist Jamie O'Neal has scored a cut on the upcoming Desperate Housewives soundtrack. The song, 'Damsel In Distress,' was written by O'Neal and her father Jimmy Murphy and stepmother Pat Murphy. The song will be recorded by actress/singer Idina Menzel, who stars in the upcoming movie release, Rent. Menzel also starred in the Broadway production of Rent, as well as Wicked and Aida. The soundtrack is scheduled for release this fall on Hollywood Records.
Additionally, O'Neal's current single and music video, 'Somebody's Hero,' continues its upward momentum, with the single in the Top 10 and the video in CMT's Top 20.

'Getting this song cut, and seeing the ‘Somebody's Hero' single and music video do so well is just icing on the cake for me,' O'Neal said. 'Anyone who knows me knows what a family oriented person I am. The fact that I co-wrote ‘Damsel' with my Dad and stepmother, and the single, ‘Somebody's Hero' is a tribute to the women in my family- it just makes everything that much sweeter. And when you see the video, well, almost my entire family is in it. I'm especially proud of my husband Rodney—he's the one in the cheesy moustache who looks like he just stepped out of Starsky and Hutch!'
O'Neal is in the middle of an extensive tour in support of her current Capitol CD, Brave.
