Sydney, AU. (EMI Music Australia) - In the lead up to this weekend's ARIA Awards, Missy Higgins is playing an intimate charity show at The Vanguard... a small Sydney club where she performed many times in the earliest days of her career. This gig sold out within minutes but people who missed out on tickets will still be able to see and hear Missy's performances through a special arrangement with bigpondmusic.com who will make most of the show available on the internet for paid downloads and streaming. As with the show itself, all of the revenue Missy receives from these online sales will go to the One In Five Foundation – a small Victorian charity that promotes research into mental health issues. For more information about this organisation please visit www.oneinfive.com.au . Money raised already includes over $1000 for a table of six that was sold on eBay this morning. The live audio from the Vanguard show will be available online for a limited time from Monday October 24. Some vision streaming for broadband users will be posted subsequently. 'I'm grateful that Bigpond have offered to help out in this way', says Missy. 'Their involvement should allow us to raise a lot more money for One In Five. It will also hopefully help the charity raise its profile which is great because they support a lot of really good work.' "BigPond Music is thrilled to get behind Missy Higgins and support One in Five by offering exclusive tracks from her Vanguard show', said Justin Milne Managing Director. 'Missy Higgins is one of the most important local artists to emerge in recent years. BigPond Music is committed to Australian content and we are delighted that we can provide her fans with special live tracks while at the same time supporting Missy's efforts to raise awareness and funds to help mental health research." Missy Higgins is the most nominated artist at this year's ARIA's and her new DVD 'If You Show Me Yours I'll Show You Mine' debuted at No 2 on the charts last week. She is currently in the middle of a national tour with special guests Ben Lee and Ray Lamontagne. While all 9000 tickets for her Brisbane show next Saturday night have already sold out, limited tickets are still available for her shows at Centennial Park in Sydney on Friday October 28 and the Myer Music Bowl on Cup Eve (Monday October 31).
