New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Breakout musician/producer Sarah Kinsley announces the physical release of Ascension, her debut EP on Verve Forecast and Decca Records UK/Universal Music, on October 13. The five-track vinyl EP showcases Kinsley's innate take on ethereal alt-pop as she expresses and explores doubts and dreams in the captivating and sometimes ironic songs on Ascension.
Prolific and profound, uncertain yet searching, Sarah Kinsley's surefooted songs are a powerful reflection of her ever-evolving self. The EP's five songs, including the shimmering pop of "Oh No Darling!," "Lovegod" and the powerful "Black Horse," were created by Kinsley in her NYC apartment recording studio. There she did it all: production, synths, midi drum programming, guitar and strings--even ersatz slide guitar. In her songs, Kinsley brings wonder and weirdness, musically and lyrically, as well as via her cinematic videos. (In middle school, she wanted to be a director.) Yet there's a maturity and thoughtfulness in Ascension that belies her youth.
Kinsley is currently on the road supporting Gus Dapperton across North America for a series of month-long dates that kicked off in mid-September. Her recently announced headline dates at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn are selling fast, with the first date on November 14th already sold out. Y
This summer also saw her perform at the iconic Lollapalooza and Governor's Ball music festivals, as well as opening for Weyes Blood on select tour dates. For up-to-date ticket and tour information please visit https://sarahkinsley.komi.io/.
