EPHRATA, Pa. (Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition)- The Divas of Jazz lent their talent to raise nearly $30,000 for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition through the third annual benefit, held at Christophers' Casual Dining on Lititz Pike, Lancaster, in October. The event included a buffet dinner, silent and live auctions, a raffle for diamond earrings valued at $2,500 donated by Vincent & Company, and the performances of six soulful divas.

At this year's event, the Divas introduced the Lola Thomas Living Life Award, which was created to honor a breast cancer survivor who is living life to the fullest, in memory of Lola Thomas, who owned and operated the Chestnut House crafts gallery with her husband Frank. The award was given to Cathy Kornfield, a member of the Divas of Jazz Steering Committee, in recognition of her life and accomplishments.

"On behalf of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, I would like to thank the Divas of Jazz and all those who worked to make this event possible. Each year, this event exceeds all expectations and becomes bigger and better than the year before," said Pat Halpin-Murphy, PBCC President & Founder. "The music and fellowship that this event creates is truly unmatched."

The divas who shared their talents were Amy Banks, Ruth Benns-Suter, Marion "CoCo" Coleman, Rose Hudson, Sonia V, and Robin Work. Major sponsors of the event include Christophers' Casual Dining, Dayton Communications, Smooth Jazz 92.7, the Benecon Group, Boardroom Graphics, Clair Brothers Systems, Vincent & Company Fine Jewelers, WGAL-TV8 and Windsor Financial Mortgage. Other event sponsors include Ace Rents/Ace the Party Place, Aurora Films, AirTrans Airways, Cheyney Seafood, Clarke Restaurant Supplies, Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply, Flowers by Paulette, Kegel's Produce, PA Wine Association, R.C. Fine, Inc., Jude Sharp of Sharp Jewelers, Sheffer Beer Distributors, Susquehanna Glass, U.S. Food Service, and Whitmore Printing.

The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition would like to thank all of the event sponsors, the Divas of Jazz Steering Committee, the Divas of Jazz, and everyone who made the event such a tremendous success.
