Sydney, AU. (SONY BMG MUSIC Entertainment) - Hip shaking Latin pop queen Shakira and R&B star Mario have both walked away from the 2005 Billboard Awards considerably heavier, having taken out a number of awards. Shakira received three awards, including Latin Pop Artist of the Year, while Mario was given two awards, including R&B/Hip-Hop Song of the Year. Shakira has had a massive year. She's released not one, but two fantastic albums, and won a stack of awards. Now, she's just added another three notches to her belt with 2005 Billboard Awards for Latin Pop Artist of the Year, Latin Song of the Year for the steamy 'La Tortura', featuring Alejandro Sanz, and Latin Pop Album of the Year for her Spanish language record 'Fijacion Oral Vol. 1'.

Shakira's latest album, 'Oral Fixation Vol. 2' featuring the rocking track 'Don't Bother', has just debuted at No 5 on the Billboard Top 200 in the US.

Also scoring some big nods at the Billboard Music Awards was the sensational Mario, who took out the awards for R&B/Hip-Hop Song of the Year and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Song of the Year for his massive hit 'Let Me Love You', while Destiny's Child were named the R&B/Hip-Hop Group of the Year.
