NASHVILLE, TN. (Grand Ole Opry Announcement) - Less than a month after being named the artist Most Likely to Succeed by the editors of Billboard Radio Monitor, Rockie Lynne has confirmed his Grand Ole Opry debut for Friday, December 9th. Lynne will perform at the historic Ryman Auditorium on the 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. shows, both broadcast live on WSM-AM radio. Lynne's debut on the legendary stage comes on one of his increasingly rare nights in Nashville. Lynne's schedule has been incredibly full-he has been on the road for months visiting radio stations across the country in support of his debut Universal South single, the self-penned 'Lipstick.' 'Lipstick' had an explosive first week at radio in October, notching the most added debut since Gretchen Wilson's 'Redneck Woman' in March of 2004. The single continues its steady ascent of the country radio charts. Last month Lynne traveled to New York City by special invitation from Mayor Bloomberg's office to kick off the city's Veterans Day celebrations at the Mayor's annual Veterans Day Breakfast at Gracie Mansion. A veteran of the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division, Lynne honored his fellow soldiers with a tribute performance of his original song 'Red, White and Blue,' and then wowed the standing room only crowd with a moving impromptu performance of 'America The Beautiful.' While in New York, Lynne also attended the premiere of the film 'Walk The Line' and the 39th Annual CMA Awards. Lynne's self-titled debut album, co-produced by Blake Chancey, Kevin Law and Tony Brown, will be released by Universal South Records on March 28, 2006.
