NASHVILLE, TN. (Rustie Blue Official Website) - Rustie Blue advances to the second round in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) with her song "Honky Tonkin' Diva", (co-writer Mike Headrick) from her album Chip Chip. "Honky Tonkin' Diva" was one of the songs selected from 15,000 entries to move to the second round! The Grand Prize Winner and the winners in each category will be announced in March 2006. Rustie Blue explains her inspiration for "Honky Tonkin' Diva": "I had been hearing the term "Diva" alot! When I think of the word Diva, I think of a beautiful, strong, successful woman. I thought why not put a Diva in a honky tonk setting? I mean, you are always seeing gals in honky tonks that dress all up, put on their boots or "dancing shoes" and go out honky tonkin! The song is about a beautiful, strong woman that loves the honky tonks, loves to dance, and is a "heartbreaker." As the songs says, "Don't let her anywhere near your heart, she'll only make you blue, cause she likes the night life a little too much, and she'll never fall for you." Rustie Blue says that the song "only took about 20 minutes to write. I was cooking spaghetti, and I kept getting ideas for the song. I was so pre-occupied with writing, that I forgot about what I was doing; To make a long story short, I ended up with burned spaghetti, but I had a great song!"
