CHICAGO, IL. (VMT Entertainment LLC) - Virgin Megastores, a Virgin Entertainment Group subsidiary, and Integrate Marketing are proud to announce the return of the 2006 Virgin College Mega Tour (VCMT), presented by Dentyne Soft Chew to college campuses this spring. Capitol recording artist
Yellowcard will headline the 2006 Virgin College Mega Tour, slated to visit 20 cities beginning in April.
Yellowcard will also be supporting their brand new release "Lights and Sounds" - in stores Jan. 24. Also joining the lineup is Aware artists Mae. All artists will be features in Virgin Megastores.
With all the attention that surrounded Yellowcard after winning the MTV 2 Award at the 2004 Video Music Awards, they had the insight to foresee the possible downsides of what a fast surge of attention and frenzy can do to people. Making a proactive decision to face their challenges, Yellowcard found themselves writing and recording "Lights and Sounds" - a culmination of some of life's highs and lows that can follow the fast track to success. "I think a lot of what we try to convey is that there's always the other side, and it's just about getting there," commented Pete Mosely (songwriter/bass/keyboard). VCMT also features a daytime "village" on campuses that will include an Emerging Artist stage, karaoke booth, games, prizes and demonstrations of the latest and greatest gadgets for the college set.
Dentyne Soft Chew is proud to return as presenting sponsor of the 2006 Virgin College Mega Tour. Exposure on campuses will include advance visits by Dentyne-wrapped Pontiac vehicles promoting the Virgin College Mega Tour and the Dentyne brand. Pontiac will also be returning as a key sponsor, providing the cars and sharing exposure on the vehicles. In addition Major League Baseball will return to the plate with the MLB Authentic Collection music-marketing program "Access To The Show," showcasing the MLB Road Show - the traveling Major League Baseball experience designed to speak specifically to Mega Tour attendees.
