Marble Hill, MO (EMG Productions/ Campfire Cafe) – Few things are more tempting than good food, a warm, inviting campfire, and time spent in the great outdoors. Add friends and family, mix well and bake to yield a totally unexpected recipe for a book signing/cooking tour that offers genuine adventure.

EMG Productions and KOA (Kampgrounds of America) kick off a most unusual book signing tour to promote traditional camping and open fire cooking. Johnny Nix, host of the popular Campfire Café™ TV cooking show, is the nation's leading expert on open fire cooking, instructing millions of viewers nationwide each week with tips and techniques for safe, successful outdoor cooking. Release of a new cookbook, Over The Open Fire, has prompted a nationwide tour, with stops at KOA locations across the country to conduct Cookin' Camp clinics and book signing sessions.

Open fire cooking is a family-oriented recreation that teaches valuable life skills. American families seeking less inexpensive recreational activities, such as outdoor cooking and camping, will find host Johnny Nix's entertaining delivery of tips and techniques for successful open fire cooking an experience that is both enjoyable and educational.

The Tour starts February 2006 at the San Diego, CA KOA with one or two-day clinics that introduce open fire cooking basics, as well as some advanced techniques. From wood selection and fire control, to equipment and safety, Nix covers all related topics with hands-on, step-by-step preparation of recipes using Campfire Café's Cowboy Cookware and accessories by Lodge, tour sponsor and manufacturer of the only cast iron used on the show. 'We hope the tour will remind folks that traditional open fire cooking can be a lot of fun, but that it can also be a critical skill to have in a variety of situations', says Nix when referring to recent natural disasters in the U.S. and elsewhere.

Over The Open Fire cookbook is available on-line for $54.95 with a 2-hour bonus DVD featuring recipe demonstrations and scenes from the Campfire Café Celebrity series featuring country music artists. The 264-page, full color cookbook appeals to all ages and is considered a significant new resource, 'a must-have for outdoor enthusiasts and hesitant campers looking to bring with them the culinary comforts of home', as reviewed by Kirkus Reports.
Tour schedule, tickets, and details can be found on-line at www.campfirecafe.com and www.koa.com or by calling Campfire Café at (800) 556 0414.
