Kansas City, MO (L.I.E.) - Good and evil, coercion, suicide, and nationalism - just a few of the subjects which the Kansas City hard rock band L.I.E. covers in their full length album, "Die Trying." The quartet includes guitarist/vocalist Tim Lyons, bassist Jeff Elliott, drummer Mike Lane, and keyboardist Dustin Banbury.

As with their critically successful "Ruins" EP (2003), the band chose to handle production duties themselves, with Lyons acting as producer and engineer. The album was recorded entirely in his home studio, simply expanding upon the production techniques that were hailed with "Ruins" by critics and fans alike, giving the album a raw edge to make it that much more real and visceral.

The album includes eleven original tracks, covering a myriad of social and political topics - religion, Big Brother government, and the state of society - as well as many more personal issues, crafting an album that is smart, catchy, but not without bitterness or regret. With hulking, brutish instrumentation and melodic vocals, it is crafted to be an action movie in musical form.

Adding an explosive touch to the drums is Phil Ondich, whose credits include Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society (on the "Sonic Brew" and "Stronger Than Death" albums). He appears as a guest on the title track. His contribution was recorded at The Fuzz Recording Studio near Columbus, OH with Danny Dunford at the helm. Dunford, whose production credits now include work with numerous bands nationwide, had previously mastered the "Ruins" EP. His intimate familiarity with Lyons' production techniques assisted in creating a sonic image that would fit within the grand scope of the album.

Originally released online November 8th, "Die Trying" will be available through retailers February 14th. More information on the band can be found through their website (https://www.LIEmusic.com).
