ATLANTA, GA. (The Favored Group/17.20 Records) -Atlanta's new breakout record label, 17.20 Records, made a huge splash at the recent Black Cultural Explosion, a Pre-Trumpet Awards event held at the Georgia World Congress Center on January 21, with performances by country music newcomer Rissi Palmer and Caribbean/Pop breakout sensation ELVIS WHITE.

Rissi Palmer, country music's brightest new star, made 17.20 Records and country music shine when she delivered a beautiful acoustic set, sending a trance-like silence across the packed audience. A true lover of country music, Rissi received national exposure when she was a finalist on Star Search, and was featured in the award-winning 2003 Country Music Television documentary, Waiting in the Wings.

Rissi is currently at work with producers Keith Thomas (Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood), Cory Rooney (Barbra Streisand, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez), Shannon Sanders (Randy Travis, Lyle Lovett, India Arie), and Drew Ramsey (India Arie, Kimberly Locke) on her not yet titled 17.20 debut.

Caribbean/Pop sensation, ELVIS WHITE, the most exciting new band to emerge in 2006, fresh off of a European tour opening for Hip-Hop icons, The Fugees, literally brought the Trumpet crowd to their feet with a rousing performance of "Winner" and their Caribbean radio hit, "Sexy Waist."

A six-member band from the British Virgin Islands, ELVIS WHITE, has completed recording of their U.S. debut, PROMISE, slated for release this summer on 17.20/Bungalo/Universal Records. The band features a similar lineup to The Fugees, with three front lead singers, Elvis - the band's leader, Toro - "the bull," and the "First Lady" of ELVIS WHITE, Shekera Wheatley. The album features production by Cory Rooney, Salaam Remi, and Rap superstar AKON, who is featured on the group's first U.S. single, "I Promise You."

Look for exciting releases from both Rissi Palmer and ELVIS WHITE this summer on 17.20 Records.
