PORTLAND, OR. (www.thejoggers.com) - Portland, Oregon's THE JOGGERS are set to embark on their first tour of the year as they head down to Austin, TX for SXSW. The quartet's StarTime International release With A Cape And A Cane was released last fall and showcased The Joggers brand of "cultivated chaos" with their warped song structures inflected with everything from African pop music to Eastern melodies.

"It's obvious that we like pop music, but we're also really interested in bizarre guitar tunings, ethnic folk, and mangled 'world' music," says guitarist and singer Ben Whitesides. "We're ready to get in the van again and it's been cool to see more and more people turn up at shows as we come back to certain cities."

Along with Whitesides, Jake Morris (drums), Darrell Bourque (bass) and Daniel Wilson (guitar) will begin their tour in Northern California and then hit SXSW in mid-March for a slew of parties and performances. Afterward the band swings through the southeast, northeast, and Midwest. The band will be doing another national tour with Pretty Girls Make Graves in May with exact dates to be announced shortly.
"...subversive..gloriously unexpected. This is a great record. " 4 stars - Portland Mercury

"Over the course of With a Cape and a Cane's 41 minutes, the Joggers' expertly turn their weaknesses into their biggest strengths. In a genre defined by precision, they are messy, melodic, and appealingly imprecise." - Spin.com

"Consistency is one of the band's biggest virtues here, but it's their grip on resistance and release that anchors the album, with hints of ambition poking out from beneath its slacker skin. From the Eastern tones on the opening and closing tracks to the dance influences on "Era Prison" and "White Madam", the Joggers fix their eyes on somewhere farther than your local dive venue without sacrificing their own unkempt charm." - Pitchfork
