Music Association (GMA) has announced the finalists for the 2006 GMA/Christian
Music Broadcasters (CMB)
Radio Station of the Year contest.
The radio station awards are designed to publicly acknowledge those Christian radio stations that meet the highest standards of quality and have the strongest impact on their listening areas. Awards are given to major, large, medium and small market stations.
Major Market:

WFSH - Atlanta, GA - Allen Power, Station Mgr.
Large Market
KXOJ - Tulsa, OK - David Stephens, Station Mgr.
WPOZ - Orlando, FL - Jim Hoge, Station Mgr
WRCM - Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill, NC - Joe Paulo, Station Mgr.
Medium Market
KBIQ - Colorado Springs, CO – Brian Taylor, Station Mgr.
KTSY - Boise, ID - Michael Agee, Station Mgr.
WMHK - Columbia, SC – Jerry Grimes, Station Mgr.
Small Market
KJIL - Dodge City, KS - Michael Luskey, Station Mgr.

KSWP - Lufkin-Nacogdoches, TX - Dwyan Calvert, Station Mgr.
The winners in each market category will be determined by a panel of judges who review the following areas - community involvement, ratings, air-check and industry leadership.
The winners in each market category will be announced before the 37th Annual GMA Music Awards on April 5, 2006. The GMA Music Awards are the culminating event for GMA Music Week 2006, which includes radio specific programming through the CMB.
The 2005 Radio Station of the Year winners were WCIC – Peoria, IL – David Brooks, Station Mgr. for small market; WCQR - Johnson City, TN - Mike Perry, Station Mgr. for medium market; WPOZ – Orlando, FL – Jim Hoge, Station Mgr. for large market; and KSBJ - Houston, TX - Tim McDermott, Station Mgr. for major market.
Founded in 1964, the 4,000-member Gospel Music Association is dedicated to exposing, promoting and celebrating the gospel through music. The GMA represents all styles of gospel music including contemporary pop, rock, urban gospel, praise & worship, Southern gospel, country and children's gospel music. The GMA produces the GMA Music Awardsä, which recognizes achievement in all genres of gospel music and are voted on by members of the GMA.
