Nashville, TN. (Jeff Bates Official Website) - With nearly 40 performances at the Grand Old Opry since 2004, country crooner Jeff Bates received the rare honor of a standing ovation last Friday night after performing his new single 'One Second Chance.' The song, about a man who has gone to jail and is seeking forgiveness and a second chance in life, is a story that is close to Bates' heart. Having a personal history of drug addiction and jail time, Bates sets up the song by telling of his own struggles and the forgiveness he received from everyone in his own life. 'One Second Chance' will be heading to radio this spring and is featured on Bates' new release, Leave The Light On, on RCA Records April 11. The 12-track collection focuses on the good things that happen when people open up to each other. Bates, who co-wrote several tracks on the album, was looking for emotional songs that talk about truly connecting, especially in love. Working with co-producers Kenny Beard and Blake Chancey, Bates crafted an album that looks at relationships from all levels.
