
Riviera Beach, FL (Russ Agency PR) - The City of Riviera Beach will host the 6th Annual Riviera Beach Jazz & Blues Festival on Friday, March 24, 2006 from 6 p.m. to midnight and Saturday, March 25, 2006 from 2 p.m. to midnight on Singer Island's Municipal Beach.
Staged along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the City known as the 'Best Waterfront City in Which to Live, Work and Play,' the Riviera Beach Jazz & Blues Festival attracts thousands of music lovers from around the country. It continues to grow in both popularity and magnitude and always delivers an impressive roster of A-list recording artists. The annual 'Jazz on the Beach' celebration provides family-oriented fun for all ages and is a 'must do' tourist attraction.

English duo Floetry will showcase their unique blend of hip-hop and spoken-word poetry as the headliner on Friday, March 24, 2006. R&B icons Peabo Bryson and Jeffrey Osborne will contribute their trademark smooth vocals along with soul balladeer Percy Sledge. Rounding out the evening's star studded line-up will be Jazz favorites David Benoit, Mike Phillips and funk specialists the Zapp Band.
On Saturday, March 25, 2006, the Festival will shift into overdrive with a headline performance from the legendary diva Patti Labelle. With multiple awards, platinum albums and an endless list of No 1 songs, this industry powerbroker is sure to perform to standing room only and bring down the house like only she can. Contemporary Jazz pioneer Najee will also perform along with fellow quiet storm favorites Alex Bugnon, Keiko Matsui and Kirk Whalum. The evening will also feature a performance by R&B crooner Eric Benet.
Health and wellness is an added theme of this year's Riviera Beach Jazz & Blues Festival. Fans can run, jog or walk at the 'Jazz Jog 5K Run' on Saturday, March 25th and enjoy a breathtaking South Florida sunrise. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the entry fee is $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event. Fitness expert Donna Richardson Joyner will get the crowd pumped up with 'Sweating in the Spirit' at 1 p.m. This mind, body and soul workout will feature a performance by Shirley Murdock.
The 6th Annual Riviera Beach Jazz & Blues Festival is being produced by Class C-1 Productions, Inc., an event planning company specializing in event productions for major corporations, conventions, concerts, and charitable foundations. Tickets for the 6th Annual Riviera Beach Jazz & Blues Festival are $38 in advance and $48 at the gate for adults and $32 in advance for Seniors 65 years and over. Students with I.D will be admitted for $38 in advance and a two-day pass is $64.00.
