NASHVILLE, TN (Rhett Akins & Jamey Johnson official websites) - Add one part redneck and one part more redneck and you have the ingredients for a renegade, honky-tonk night of fun. BNA Records artists' and friends Rhett Akins and Jamey Johnson hit the road this week for a two plus month tour.

Rhett Akins is back with a new album this summer, People Like Me, but the country star has never really left. Akins has been touring the country non-stop since 1995 and most recently on the Honky Tonk Tailgate Party Tour. People Like Me features the upcoming single 'Old Bird Dog' and the controversial 'Kiss My Country Ass,' which has been received with an overwhelmingly positive response from country music fans.
'Touring has been my life for the past eleven years,' said Akins. 'It is the only life I know. When I'm not spending time with my two children or enjoying the outdoors, I'm on the road playing my music for my fans.'

Newcomer Jamey Johnson's powerful debut single, 'The Dollar,' was a top 15 hit for the Montgomery, Alabama native. The song was inspired by his daughter while he was on the road. His album, The Dollar also debuted Top 20 on Billboard's Country Chart and has received critical reviews from The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Amazon.com.

'I was built for this,' Jamey said about life on the road. 'Our band can go from just burning the house down on a Hank Jr. song, and then two or three songs later, slow all the way down to a George Jones ballad. We have the ability to crank it up to 11 and then turn it down to soft and sweet,' said the co-writer of Trace Adkins recent No 2 smash hit 'Honky Tonk Badonkadonk.'
