BURBANK, CA (Warner Bros. Records/ Record Collection) - Record Collection artist Murs announces nationwide tour March 29th with acclaimed producer 9th Wonder and labelmates Supreeme. In conjunction with Tuesday's release of his new album "Murray's Revenge," west coast underground hip-hop phenom Murs will be heading out on a two-month nationwide tour with 9th Wonder and labelmates Supreeme, the first act that he signed to Record Collection. This tour will be making stops in major cities across the US including NY, Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia.
"Murray's Revenge" follows the runaway acclaim of Murs' last album, 2004's instant classic "3:16 - The 9th Edition" (Def Jux). 3:16 was Murs' first collabo with 9th Wonder of Little Brother & Jay-Z fame. 9th Wonder first gained fame with his group Little Brother and has since gone on to produce for Mary J. Blige, M.O.P., Freeway, Destiny's Child and more. Murs & 9th's first collaboration ended up on numerous Top 10's and Best of 2004 lists. With Murray's Revenge Murs is able to once again give his listeners an honest and refreshing look into his world and issues that are still of importance to this day through his lyrics.
During his career he has had the opportunity to collaborate with everyone from Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Company Flow, Little Brother, Jean Grae, Living Legends, Aceyalone, Shock G, E-40 and many more. He got his start in the Living Legends and still remains affiliated with the group. Murs organized and headlined the 'Paid Dues' Independent Hip-Hop Festival on March 11th at the Shrine Expo Center which also featured underground hip-hop heavyweights El-P, Aesop Rock, Brother Ali and more. Over 6,000 fans attended the show and the LA Times said "There's a vibrant rap scene with advanced lyricism, stinging political commentary and quality DJ performances that continues to flourish in a seemingly parallel universe..."
Murs is at the forefront on this burgeoning scene.
