NEW YORK, NY (Virgin Records) - Rubbing shoulders in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, " Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" by Atlanta's DEM FRANCHIZE BOYZ holds a bulleted No. 7 position, while fellow Georgian BUBBA SPARXXX bullets to No. 9 from No. 13 with "Ms. New Booty," for his first Top 10 pop chart appearance ever, giving the Virgin label a double berth in the national pop Top 10. "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" is also the first Top 10 Hot 100 hit for DFB; their So So Def/Virgin debut single, "I Think They Like Me" peaked at No. 15, in a 26-week chart run that ended just two weeks ago. During that period, the song was widely noted in the media for selling an amazing 1 million mobile ringtunes. Both songs were No. 1 in Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart, the first time a hip-hop act topped the chart with successive single releases. DFB's album "ON TOP OF OUR GAME," debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Bubba Sparxxx's third album and New South/Purple Ribbon/Virgin debut, "THE CHARM," is set for release on April 4, 2006, with an extraordinary video and radio surge behind it: aside from its move into the pop top 10, and its fast rise into the urban and rhythmic/crossover airplay top 10, the video clip and an associated online contest for "Ms. New Booty" have created massive excitement over the album's imminent release. The digital download of "Ms. New Booty" is No. 8 on iTune's overall Top Songs chart, and No. 1 among Hip-Hop/Rap tracks. The video is also No. 1 on the popular online community myspace.com.
