New York, NY (Atlantic Records) - The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival expands its stellar 2nd anniversary lineup to include Chicago native, Lupe Fiasco. Hailing from the windy city, Lupe has been highly regarded and coveted by many top- level executive and industry insiders for the past few years, and most recently gained notoriety for his verse and appearance in Kanye West's 'Touch the Sky'. His debut solo album, Lupe Fiasco's FOOD AND LIQUOR is slated for a June 27th release on 1st & 15th/ Atlantic Records. In tune with the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival mission statement, Lupe has a positive outlook on the mark he plans to leave on Hip Hop. '[When I retire], I want to step away on a positive note," says Lupe. 'What you put out in the world comes back to you. You actually change the world with what you do. I want to put some good in the world.'

The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival is set to take place on Saturday, June 24th at the historic Tobacco Warehouse. Big Daddy Kane will be headlining the event that will include performances from the best of Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, and Afro-beat groups in the country. Festival organizer Alma Geddy-Romero explained, 'Adding an artist of Lupe's stature makes a strong connection with the young hip hop fans looking for an artist that represents their struggles. When I first heard 'Kick, Push' I knew that Lupe was a special talent and we had to have him for the show.' The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival is a free event, but you must have a ticket to enter. Ticket registry has begun on the Festival home-site www.brooklynbodega.com.
Further artist announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
