Sydney, AU (Sony BMG Music Entertainment) - Get ready to rock out with the best - Audioslave have a new album on the way, and it's set to be a heavy-hitting affair. The album was tracked three weeks ago with producer Brendan O'Brien, who mixed Soundgarden's 'Superunknown' and produced Rage Against The Machine's 'Evil Empire' and 'The Battle Of Los Angeles'.

Guitarist Tom Morello has told MTV that the new album is an "ass-kicker." He also said that Audioslave's third record is "really unique" and "as hard-rockin' an album as we've ever made."

"If you want your ass kicked, you've come to the right place," he added. "And you may have the opportunity to shake that ass too."
As yet untitled, the album also sees the band get political on a track called 'Wide Awake'.

"It's the most political song Audioslave's ever written, and it's a scathing condemnation of the Bush administration's failures in the wake of Hurricane Katrina," Tom Morello said. "It's a sad, powerful and angry song."

Tom also said that the record "sounds like Led Zeppelin meets Earth, Wind & Fire."
