Richmond, VA (OTAIR LLC) - OTAir, a national mobile marketing and media firm specializing in text message marketing, announced today their partnership with Richmond-based radio station 102.1 The X to conduct text message based voting at the 23rd Annual Chili Cook-Off. Patrons of the event will be able to text their vote for the best chili to 68247 (OTAIR). 'The major benefit for this type of event is the rapid response,' says Jim Washok, co-founder of OTAir. 'People at the event will be able to submit their vote quickly and easily through text-messaging.' OTAir will also offer on-site instructions and demonstration sessions to help assist patrons who have never sent a text message. 'We are extremely excited about our partnership with 102.1 The X,' adds Chris Littleton, OTAir's other co-founder. '102.1 The X and patrons of the event will be able to find out the winner of the People's Choice Award for the best chili in real-time as soon as the voting ends.' Paper balloting in previous years caused lengthy delays as thousands of ballots were totaled by hand. For this year's Chili Cook-Off, event coordinators expect over 20,000 chili-lovers to be in attendance. The 23rd Annual Chili Cook-Off, held at the Richmond International Raceway Complex, is a unique all-ages event that brings approximately three dozen amateur and professional chefs to compete for cash and prizes as patrons enjoy delicious varieties of chili and vote on their favorites. This year's cook-off will be held Saturday, April 22nd, 2006 from 11am-7pm. The cook-off will feature live bands, great food, entertainment, and more. Tickets for the event are available through www.1021thex.com, Plan 9 Music, BK Music, and at The X Business Office.
