New York, NY (www.urbanimpactsummit.com) - The Urban IMPACT Summit featuring Dr. Bobby Jones will convene June 25-27, 2006 for the second time in New England at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. The world's largest resort, the Foxwoods complex sits on the historic Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation reservation about 90 minutes outside of New York in southern Connecticut. We invite you to join Dr. Jones, host of BET's longest running No 1 gospel show, Bobby Jones Gospel and Attorney Walker of J.W. Consulting along with over 140 Artists, Record Executives, Pastors, Professional Athletes, Scholars, Publishers, Business Leaders, Politicians, and Community Activists and all other professionals within the African-American community, as they converse on timely issues affecting the Music Industry, the Youth, the Church, Politics, their Communities, Urban Issues, and Money & Finance.

The 2nd Annual Urban IMPACT Summit is intentionally poised to bridge the worlds of Hip Hop and Gospel Music. 'This is my first time being a part of a conference that brings the Gospel and Hip-Hop communities together. The Urban IMPACT Summit or 'UIS' is the first of its kind and I'm looking forward to representing the old school, shares hip-hop pioneer, Afrika Bambaataa. We have a lot to learn from each other.'

Birthed out of a conversation between Dr. Jones and Attorney Walker, the Summit will stand firmly against the backdrop of a battle cry that says that we must Embrace, Educate and Empower this culture. These two gentlemen believe that there are very serious and important aspects of the Urban and Gospel culture that have not been addressed. I have worked with both genres of music,' says Walker. I just want to give back and prepare the next generation got greater works.' Centering its efforts on today's youth while discussing the many pressing issues of today's urban culture, the Urban IMPACT Summit is the premier event for the gospel music industry's who's who to network, share knowledge, and discover new talent! Last year, Foxwoods hosted about 5,000 UIS attendees from 27 states and accommodated 40 concerts. With that said, be prepared to walk away with an understanding of not just the music industry, but also such issues as health, finance, hip hop music, and other related topics. The Urban IMPACT Summit will feature dynamic speakers, informative panels, skill-sharpening workshops, artist showcases, and a stellar artist line-up-and more! According to Mr. Robert DeSalvio, VP at Foxwoods, 'Running a resort and casino that's so large, sometimes you feel that you've seen it all, however the Urban IMPACT Summit was unlike anything we've invited here before. We are so honored to be apart of this very dynamic event.' Dr. Jones, whose show Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel has been the top rated show on (BET) Black Entertainment Television for 25 years and is seen worldwide, is scheduled to tape his Word Network TV show 'Bobby Jones Presents,' which will deal with urban issues, at the summit. 'We are proud to bring this conference to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Reservation,' said Dr. Jones. 'When I visited earlier this year and toured the museum, I was struck by the awesomeness of what this tribe has accomplished. I wanted to share that culture with my audience.' Last year Dr. Jones was joined by Dr. Shirley Caesar, Dottie Peoples, Albertina Walker, Kurt Carr, Tramaine Hawkins, Stephen Hurd, Dr. Charles Hayes, Dr. Freda Battle, Songwriter David Frazier, Bishop Larry Trotter, William Becton, Pastor Marichal Monts, Tribal Chairman Michael Thomas, Mayor Dannel Malloy, Mayor John Fabrizi, Tyscot's Bryant Scott, Flo Anthony, and a host of others. Stay tuned to the WORD Network to watch the 2005 Urban IMPACT Summit currently being shown in 20 major marketplaces.
